what is it about quiet time...

What is it about those moments where you have nothing to do, and should be relaxing - those moments that you want so badly -  that cause you to think about things that are not realistic.  For example - I am a working mom, a self-admitted busy body... but I still think about how awesome it would be to stay home and have babies and be nothing but crafty and awesome.  Then I get sad thinking that I have somehow missed out on my son by working.

Then I snap back to reality... I can barely make it all weekend without leaving the house to do something, anything just to get a moment of peace from the madness of pets and kids and cleaning.  That doesn't mean that I don't want it - I am sure that I could find something to do...

Then when it's quiet - I am bored.  No one needs my help, I don't need to dodge that sneaky lego that always seems to find my bare foot, and I am not leaning against the sink to put in my contacts and leaning back to realize that I am covered in sparkly kids Crest and need to change. Again.

While there is something magical in those quiet moments... I can't help but to miss the chaos of my 'real life'.  ♥

I might miss my hair a little...

Ok... not all of it, but some of it.  Overall, I am so happy to have gone through with donating my hair.  It was something that made me feel like my heart and my karma were in the right place....

For two and a half years, I have been growing out my hair with the intention of donating it...

Here is where it was:

And this is my new cut and color!

Through the salon that I went to, my hair was donated to Wigs for Kids

about

hello all... I am alicia :)

I just turned 30 and I am learning to embrace it.  I am a native to Ohio and love it here.  My toes are always painted, I hate driving and motherhood has to be my greatest accomplishment.  I have a ton of patience, but the attention span of a gnat.  I love Ohio State football and nail polish and I am growing to love cooking a little more.  I have also taken up making stuff from patterns a-la pinterest.

I have a ton of piercings, and I love tattoos (there are more in my future).  I just cut off nearly 15 inches of hair and donated it to Wigs for Kids.

I am married to a super nerd, but I love him for who he is.  He loves animals and has an amazing way with them.  I find that if left unsupervised, he will bring home any animal he comes across.  At times, telling him he cannot have another pet makes me feel a little bad!

Together we have three kids.  Kingston is our child together, and Ky and Tay are my step-daughters. I am ready for another baby... the hubs is not so convinced!

Kingston has brought out the best in me, but he has also taught me that no matter what I expect him to do - he is going to do something else.  He is everything that a boy should be, handsome, loving (most of the time), ornery, grubby and rotten! He will be four next month and I am not sure where the time has gone!

The girls are nine and six and they are sassy and hilarious.  All three of them keep my life colorful!

first post...

Just delving into the blogging world... so many fun people and things! :)  I am a mama of one, step-mama of two and wife to the most loving nerd in the world.  Our life is a crazy whirlwind, but i wouldn't change it for the world.
